Vicenza DOC was born in 2000. An appellation that encompasses a very wide area, rich in facets due to the morphology of the land. Plains and mountains, rivers and hills, lakes and streams. The climate is also different, more rainy in the foothills than in the mild area of the Berici Hills.

Viticulture

The terroir expresses its originality in the production of the wines, each reflecting the character of the specific production area. In addition to identifying the places where the vines are grown, the regulations establish planting distances, training forms, and pruning systems suitable for ensuring the quality of the grapes. In particular, for native varieties such as garganega, pergola training is allowed.

In this area Pinot Grigio was among the first in Veneto to receive the DOC designation.

A viticulture that improves from year to year the production offer of the territory, thanks to the synergy between the control work of the Consortium with producers and wine companies.

The “Vicenza” Controlled Designation of Origin is attributable to the following different grape and wine varieties: Cabernet, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Raboso, Rosso, Rosato (including sparkling and novello), Bianco (including sparkling, spumante and passito), Chardonnay, Garganega, Manzoni Bianco, Moscato, Moscato Spumante, Pinot Bianco, Pinot Grigio, Riesling, Sauvignon, Vino Passito
